Mahina candles are hand made here in New Zealand using only the highest quality imported French fragrances and botanical wax to produce a luxury candle that is clean burning, long lasting and heavenly scented. Mahina uses a proprietary blend of environmentally friendly soy wax and New Zealand beeswax in their high end glass boxed candles. The current pillars are made with 100% sustainably farmed palm wax, perfect for everyday use, however next month Mahina will be releasing a range of luxury coloured pillars to their already divine collection - we can't wait!

Mahina aims to provide candle lovers with a bespoke offering, something different, high quality that reflects their impeccable taste, without a hint of Kiwi kitsch in sight! Mahina candles are available at Maison Luxury Home and Lifestyle in either the 250gm glass boxed style with a burn time of up to 40 hours of clean burn time; or the current pillar with up to 50 hours of burn time. Their fragrances are grouped into Floral, Fresh or Spicy Oriental.

Floral:

Mahina White Night - leading with Tubereuse, the small, white tropical night smelling flower, tempered with hints of gardenia to give it a fresh floral fragrance, evoking memories of balmy nights

Empress The Blanc - Sweet jasmine on the top note blends seamlessly into smoky white tea. It harks back to the heyday of Shanghai; modern and sophisticated, yet decidedly risque.

Fresh:

Manor Born - A beautiful fresh candle blended from mandarin, basil and citron vert. Imagine Pimms and lemonade in a warm summer garden, or on the lawn at the manor.

Spicy Oriental:

Eastern Splendour - This heady candle is a complex blend of ingredients including coriander, apricot and blackcurrant flower with a base of vetyver and patchouli. The notes unravel like a fine tapestry enveloping the room and your senses with images of far away exotic places.

We're so excited!!! For those of you in New Zealand not yet acquainted with  the amazing range from Voluspa - especially their super fabulous and famous candles, let me introduce you to a real treat!

Voluspa is now at Maison Luxury Home and Lifestyle!!

In setting up our online store - Maison Luxury Home and Lifestyle, I had two real motivations. Firstly, my priority was entirely selfish, to have easy access to Voluspa candles... coming from Australia where they are well represented I was surprised I did not see one, anywhere, in Christchurch. Secondly, I noticed that with a significantly smaller population, a country based on agriculture and hence a wider population spread it doesn't make sense for a retail store to stock a large range of high end products in the one location - the market is simply too small. But that shouldn't mean going without, particularly in a country that has nurtured online shopping into a billion dollar business. Just look at the exponential growth and current value of Trade Me, Kiwi's definitely like to shop online!

The solution was obvious - set up a luxury online retail store... and hence, Maison Luxury Home and Lifestyle was created! Now everyone in New Zealand can have the same level of access to life's little luxuries, you shouldn't be disadvantaged just because you don't live in Auckland (this seems to be where everything is concentrated), instead you can shop from the comfort of your own home, in your own time and not have to worry about getting to a major city, trying to find parking spaces in huge shopping centres, getting pushed and shoved in bustling crowds - which we all know is only going to get worse in the lead up to Christmas. Instead, shopping with Maison is all about YOU!

Now, we have our first shipment of Voluspa on it's way and we will slowly expand our range over the next few months. We want to introduce some of our personal favourites to you so you can try them out for yourself, or with Christmas coming, give them as gifts. My long time favourite is the Crisp Champagne 100hr candle, I love the fragrance and sleek black glass votive, even the box it comes in looks luxe! We also have a selection of Voluspa Room Sprays and Diffusers to help fill your home with gorgeous fragrance.
